Why we do what we do
Aasaaska is also an advocate for living wages for all of our young people. Our goal is for all members of our team to earn enough income for a satisfactory standard of living and prevent them from living in or falling into poverty.
Why Buy Local?
Buying local produce contributes to a smaller carbon footprint by reducing transportation emissions, minimizing packaging waste, lowering energy use, and encouraging sustainable agricultural practices. For urban areas, particularly those struggling with environmental issues like air pollution and heat islands, supporting local produce and urban farms can be an essential part of reducing overall environmental impact.
Why Are Bees Important?
Get hands on experience and learn from the pros! There are natural benefits to honey. We help further beekeeping education in our state.
Let’s grow together and share experiences.
Urban farming provides accessible, affordable, nutritious food. It includes teaching people to grow their own nutritious food. Farming involves production, processing, marketing and delivery, thus creating jobs. Evidence suggests that increasing green, natural space helps reduce violent crime. Nature’s soothing effects may dial down intense emotions that lead to aggression and violence.
